Charlotte is a founding partner of Hansen & Ersbøll Agenda, a leading Danish-based strategic consultancy specialised in sustainable change. From January 2017 to June 2020, Charlotte was seconded to the UN Global Compact in New York, where she served as senior advisor to its CEO and Executive Director and spearheaded the Health is Everyone’s Business Action Platform, exploring how business can take a human rights-based approach to developing simultaneous co-benefits for climate, nature and health.
She is a Trustee with Forum for the Future, a leading international sustainability non-profit, working with business, governments, and civil society to accelerate the shift toward a sustainable future, and Chair of the External Sustainability Advisory Board of UCB, a global biopharmaceutical company focused on creating value for people living with severe diseases in immunology and neurology.
From 2005 to 2016 Charlotte was Corporate Vice President of Corporate Stakeholder Engagement with Novo Nordisk A/S, leading a global team of professionals overseeing the company’s reputation, external affairs, and sustainability work, including access to health. Among other things, she developed and spearheaded Novo Nordisk’s global Changing Diabetes® leadership platform and signature programs, including the ground-breaking public-private-academic partnership Cities Changing Diabetes to fight urban diabetes.
She was on the faculty of Cambridge University’s Sustainability Leadership Programme, was member of the Policy Committee for Trust and Reputation of the European Federation of the Pharmaceutical Industry (EFPIA), a council member of the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation and a member of the World Economic Forum Humanitarian System Global Future Council. Prior to joining Novo Nordisk, Charlotte was a senior communications executive, advising global healthcare industry and non-governmental organizations on communications and branding, global health advocacy and policy.
