Stéfan Descheemaeker was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Nomad Foods on June 1, 2015. He was previously at Delhaize Group SA, the international food retailer, where he was Chief Financial Officer between 2008 and 2011 before becoming Chief Executive Officer of its European division until October 2013. After leaving Delhaize Group SA, he held board positions with Telenet Group Holdings N.V. and publisher Group Psychologies and served as an industry advisor to Bain Capital.
Between 1996 and 2004, he was Head of Strategy & External Growth at Interbrew (now Anheuser-Busch InBev) and was responsible for managing M&A and strategy, culminating with the merger between Interbrew and AmBev that created the world’s largest brewer. After that he held senior management roles as Zone President in the U.S., Central and Eastern Europe and Western Europe between 2004 and 2008.
Stéfan started his career at Cobepa, at that time the Benelux investment company of BNP-Paribas. He has held a number of other directorships, serving on the Board of Anheuser-Busch InBev from 2008 to 2019 and has been Chairman of the Board of Verlinvest, one of the leading European investors in purpose led brands, since June 2019.
He is also a professor of Business Strategy at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
