    About the 2022 Event

The net zero transition can only be delivered by people - the skills they master, the communities they nurture, the businesses they manage and the culture they create. At the same time, a failure to engage people with the net zero mission risks locking communities out of the transition and triggering a backlash against climate action. Net Zero Culture brought together storytellers, educators, psychologists, marketeers, academics, policymakers, cultural influencers and business leaders, to explore the many different ways in which businesses and governments can help instil a culture supported by practical systems that actively supports the net zero transition.

Watch on demand to get the inside track on some of the best net zero campaigns from around the world. Discover the tools and techniques to better understand and influence internal and external stakeholders and join the crucial conversation on how to nurture a culture that enables climate action.

Sessions ranged from embedding a culture of sustainability throughout organisations including a practical session from former CEO of Danone, Emmanuel Faber to an array of case studies, panels and presentations analysing the role of ‘the cultural sectors’ in the net zero transition, through the lens of faith groups, sport, music and film and broadcast.

The Net Zero Culture Summit explored the importance of green skills in meeting net zero goals, including a panel titled “Mind the Skills Gap” starring ITUC, General Secretary, Sharan Burrow. To supplement this, we heard credible approaches and mechanisms for educating, engaging, and empowering employees to meet net zero from WSP, UK Director of Sustainability, David Symons.

Net Zero Culture wouldn’t have been complete without a thorough discussion on engagement and communications… We analysed what it takes to engage employees, colleagues, and the public in the net zero transition with panels titled “what the public want from business in the net zero transition and “engaging people in the net zero transition”.

A plethora of renowned experts in the field joined us, including CEO of The Behavioural Insights Team, David Halpern and CEO of The Advertising Association, Stephen Woodford.

To top off a day of compelling and informative discussion we heard from the amazing IEMA, CEO, Sarah Mukherjee MBE on the importance of D&I and collaborative culture in achieving net zero.
